Althought, you´ll need a Fly Fishing License to fish the flats of Cozumel. No worries. We got you cover, because our Fly Fishing Trips include the fishing permit.

Our Fly Guides are licensed and regulated by the National Ministry of Tourism, and the National Ministry of Wildlife. Which require that every tourist performing sport fishing activities in Mexico, needs to be guided by a licensed Guide. Therefore, the sport fisherman (tourist) gets automatically licensed when performing fishing with a Licensed Guide.

Please, note that this information is gathered, translated, and presented as a quick guide and introduction to the leisure sport fishing regulations that any tourist aiming to fish the flats of Cozumel should attend himself to:


-Fishing in Mexico national waters for recreational and leisure purposes is allowed for tourists.

-Leisure sport fishermen have to be guided by a Licensed Guide to perform fishing activities in Mexico.

-Both Fishing Guide and Boat must be licensed and regulated by the Tourism and Wildlife Ministry.

-Fishing Guide must file a "sport fisherman notification" before the local Tourism Office at least 1 day before the Fishing Trip is served.
